ABOUT ME

My name is Gerry Holford and I live in New York City. My culinary adventures began when I was 2 years old and put a kettle on the stove as my mother slept; I was apparently trying to make eggs. I've always been fascinated with cooking and equally with eating and its sustaining, social-emotional aspect.   There is nothing better than sitting down with friends and family and enjoying a meal with wine and laughter. The pleasure lies not only in the cooking and eating but in the company as well.

Things I like:  Spanish wine, pulled pork sandwiches, Chuck Bass, my sons face, summer road trips, scary movies, chocolate Zingers, old school hip hop, 80s music and making out.

Some of my dislikes:  Finding out I've run out of coffee on a Saturday morning, tripping over my sons skateboard, walking the dog in winter, taking out my contacts and realizing I don't know where my specs are...you know, inconvenient stuff.

The recipes you will find here are simple to prepare and will be enjoyed by all at your table.  Tweak any recipe to your liking, cooking is a feeling not a science; only you know when the dish is complete!

The greeting when you walk into the dining room is a definite indicator as to how your meal will go; comforting, familiar and soul warming. Every time we go to Ipuddo the meal is the same: Pork buns and Akamaru Modern ramen. The pork is mouth wateringly moist and the creamy ramen broth is unbelievably flavorful. Whether you decide on a quick lunch or a late and lazy dinner, your appetite will thank you.
